High-Performance Teams have been defined in a variety of different ways. For example, some researchers defined high-performance teams as teams that consistently satisfy the needs of customers, employees, investors, and other stakeholders. Such teams frequently outperform other teams that produce similar products and services under similar conditions and constraints.
Other researchers defined high-performance teams as teams that have strong financial results, satisfied customers and employees, and high levels of individual initiative, productivity, and innovation.
Finally, high-performance teams have also been defined as teams that outperform other teams in the same industry. They exceed industry expectations, traditional goals, or performance results of other teams through an exceptional set of characteristics, skills, competencies, or a non-traditional approach.
